Due diligence for angel investors
Thursday, 29 June 2006
Marilyn Sorbello recently presented “Due Diligence for Angel Investors” at a workshop conducted by Founders Forum as part of their series of four weekly collaborative workshops designed to provide investors and mentors an opportunity to obtain a deep understanding of the requirements for developing successful ventures that become top performers.
The aims of the workshop series are to strengthen investors’ skills in understanding, supporting and nurturing early stage ventures and to develop the knowledge to rapidly grow a high quality angel investment portfolio. A combination of case studies and presentations, on specialised skills and knowledge required to access and structure deals, to manage relationships with entrepreneurs, will help participants recognise good early stage investment opportunities.
For her presentation, Marilyn drew on the deep experience of the inQbator team gained through evaluating deal flow over an extensive period. She outlined key information that investors should be looking for in the due diligence process, including information that might be difficult to obtain.
The program is being facilitated by Rick McElhinney, Michael Murtagh and a group of Founders Forum supporters.
